Week 16 ~ Baby Orange!

I was traumatized earlier this week! My coworker was out so I had to chaperone a group of high school students for her on a tour through the hospital lab.... The tour guide showed us miscarried fetuses! They were at 6, 8, and 12 weeks. It’s amazing how human they look so early- I could see the ribs, spine, and even the ears on the 12 week fetus! Of course I immediately thought about how my baby probably looked exactly like that baby, but just a bit larger. It was so completely unexpected I was sure I would have nightmares. I held it together until the very end when the lady who was doing the tour pulled me aside to ask if I was pregnant, because she could tell I was reacting to what I was seeing… and that’s when I lost it n started crying…. in front of the high school students. Quite traumatizing and embarrassing all at the same time :-/ but other than that it was a great week :-)
