Week 23 ~ Baby Grapefruit!
How far along? 23 weeks! I was shocked when I realized that next week I will be at 6 months- that seems crazy!
Weight gain? I didn't weigh in this week, but I found this information and thought it was interesting that they have broken down pregnancy weight gain into the specifics:
- 7 1/2 pounds is about how much the baby will weigh by the end of pregnancy.
- 1 1/2 pounds is how much the placenta weighs.
- 4 pounds is attributed to increased fluid volume.
- 2 pounds is the weight of the uterus.
- 2 pounds is the weight of breast tissue.
- 4 pounds is because of increased blood volume.
- 7 pounds is attributed to maternal stores of fat, protein and other nutrients.
- 2 pounds for the amniotic fluid.
- Total: 30 pounds
Maternity clothes? I am wearing some maternity items, but I (barely) still fit into some of my regular clothes!
Stretch marks? Nope!
Sleep: My pregnancy pillow arrived and it's pure heaven! I think I'm going to keep it forever... it feels like a cozy hug minus the body heat!
Best moment this week: Hubbs n I had a productive discussion on some topics that we were struggling to come to an agreement on - so much stress lifted!
Movement: Baby's moving more frequently and he seems to grow stronger every day! As far as my movement, I hadn't managed to walk as much in the past couple weeks, but I'm feeling newly inspired with the beautiful summer weather we are having. I'm also loving pre-natal yoga and it's really helping other body parts adjust to the growing belly! I love taking the time to really check in with my body and baby and work out all the kinks that I may or may not have noticed throughout the week.
Food cravings: I need to kick the sugar habit... have I mentioned I need to kick the sugar habit?
Anything making you queasy or sick: So much heartburn... see last comment- need to kick the sugar habit! I think that's the primary culprit.
Labor signs: No.
Symptoms: My sacrum has started to get sore, but I sit on a yoga ball at work and there are some great exercises that provide relief, so it hasn't been too painful. Since sitting makes it worse, it's great inspiration to get up and walk around!
Belly button in or out? In!
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Moody at the beginning of the week, but then happy toward the end of the week :-D
Looking forward to: Baby kicking hard enough that I can SEE it!
