Week 18 ~ Baby Sweet Potato
How far along? 18 weeks! I have DEFINITELY popped this week :-) Several co-workers made comments for the first time! Granted, they know I'm pregnant, but still ;-) To strangers it probably just looks like I've gained a few pounds... but that's just more incentive to get the word out LOL
Total weight gain: +1.2 lbs from my appointment last month and +3.4 lbs since my first appointment! I am really shocked that I haven't gained more weight... I was worried with the "eating for two" excuse I would balloon up quickly. I am still right on track according to this tracker, whoot :-) Whenever it comes to weight it seems I'm always above average so it's actually nice to be average for once :-P (Yeah, I'm usually above average in the ONE area where it's not good to be above average :-P)
Maternity clothes? YES! I got to wear them for the FIRST time earlier this week! I had bought one pair of black slacks, one pair of jeans, and one black sweater when I first found out I was pregnant because I wanted something on hand the MOMENT my clothes got tight. I'm so thankful I did that because I just couldn't suffer through unbuttoned pants and the "rubber band trick" - comfort is just too important to me. However, the dress that I loved and wanted to wear for my baby shower arrived and it doesn't fit at all :-( They don't carry a larger size, so that was a huge disappointment :-(
Stretch marks? None yet!
Sleep: I've been sleeping pretty well, but have noticed sleeping on my tummy is no longer comfortable.
Best moment this week: The ultrasound! We found out baby's gender and got to see his precious face! Getting a glimpse of his little personality was pretty magical, too.
Miss anything? No, not really.... except maybe the occasional beer ;-) I'm loving the 2nd trimester so far!
Movement: Still nothing :-( I'm waiting in eager anticipation- it could happen at any moment! After seeing how much the lil bugger was moving around during the ultrasound I'm surprised I haven't felt him, yet.
Food cravings: No, I really haven't craved anything or had any aversions since the first trimester. I'm eating pretty much the same as I always have. (You know, a balanced diet - plenty of broccoli, but also brownies to balance it out ;-))
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope!
Gender: We found out Tuesday- oh boy, we're having a BOY! I thought the suspense might kill me, but I survived ;-) (This is the point where I breeze over the fact that Hubbs won that bet... ;-))
Labor signs: No.
Symptoms: Occasional cramping/stomach pains, but not too often. The acne has definitely calmed down. My nails and hair are still growing like crazy, which I'm loving!
Belly button in or out? In!
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy!
Looking forward to: Getting perfect results from the lab work I had done at our 18 week appointment!
